Our Adoption Bracelet was designed for a dear friend to give to her birth mother. It is lovingly made with sterling silver Bali beads, Swarovski crystal pearls, and Rose Quartz.

Why give an Adoption Bracelet?
A mother who has placed a child for adoption is often left with a huge hole in her heart. She carried a child through 9 months of pregnancy - her life was forever knit together with another - and then she was expected to "move on" as if nothing ever happened.

Mother's Day for a birth mother can be the hardest day of the year. She gave the gift of life and loved enough to place her child with a family who could provide what she could not.  Often, she is then treated like a second-class citizen and forced to endure Mother's Day in quiet sorrow.

In 1990, a group of birth mothers established Birthmother's Day. It is celebrated the day before Mother's Day to help birth mothers work through the flood of (often negative) emotions they experience. It acknowledges that before an adoptive mother could be called "Mom," a birth mother had to give the gift of life.
