I am not a teenager or a "rapper", but I know what the term "bling" means. This bracelet can definitely be considered bling! I would venture that most of you reading this do as well. The term was coined by the rap group Cash Money in the 1990's. So why do millions of Americans who have never listened to rap music know what it means? It is just another example of slang gone mainstream. Several years ago "bling" was actually added to the Oxford English Dictionary. The official definition is "diamonds, jewelry and all forms of showy style."
